Norwegian salad with herring: a recipe for a healthy dinner
Herring is a very healthy and valuable product that is a source of vitamins A, D, and B12, and most importantly, polyunsaturated fatty acids. You can salt it yourself, as well as make delicious salads, snacks, and spreads.
Cook Olga Matviy shared on Instagram a recipe for a delicious, healthy, and satisfying herring salad with lettuce and a delicious dressing.
Ingredients:
- Lettuce leaves - 400 g
- Red onion - 1 pc.
- Herring - 1 pc.
- Quail eggs - 8-10 pcs.
- Dijon mustard - 1 tsp.
- Oil - 3-4 tbsp.
- Percentage 9% - 1 tsp.
- Mustard - 1 tsp.
- Salt to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the eggs. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves, and tear them. Cut shallots or red onions into very thin rings, mash them, and add to the salad.
2. Cut the fillet of fatty salted herring into strips of about 1x2 cm and transfer to the other ingredients of the salad. Cut the eggs into slices and add on top.
3. Dressing: Pour 1 tsp. of Dijon and regular mustard with oil and vinegar, salt, and whisk. Season before serving and mix with 2 forks.
