New Year's appetizer "Shuba" made of beets and herring: easier and tastier than a salad
Beetroot is a very healthy and budget-friendly vegetable that can be the basis for making delicious salads for every day and snacks. It can also be used to make delicious sauces and dressings.
The cook shared a recipe for a delicious and healthy beet appetizer with herring and mayonnaise on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- 2 large beets
- 3-4 medium potatoes
- 2 carrots
- 2 eggs
- 1 small onion
- 200 g of herring
- 2 tbsp. mayonnaise
- salt
Method of preparation:
1. Bake the vegetables in foil at 200 degrees for 40 minutes, boil the eggs, and cool everything.
2. Peel and grate the vegetables, finely chop the onion, and dice the herring.
3. Squeeze the juice out of the beets and combine the beets with 1/2 grated potato, season with salt. Add the grated carrots, potatoes, eggs, onions, mayonnaise, salt, and herring, and mix.
4. Use cling film to form balls and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour!
