The work by the French artist looks like crushed beer cans

At first glance, the artwork "All the Good Times We Had Together" by French artist Alexandre Lavet looks like two crushed beer cans. That's what a mechanic, a staff member at the LAM Museum in Lisse (the Netherlands), thought and threw the piece in the trash.

However, if you look closely, you will see that they are actually carefully hand-painted with acrylic paint, and it took the artist a lot of time to create this artwork. However, its artistic value was lost due to this accident, writes The Guardian.

"These paintings are a tribute to Brussels streets, artists’ studios, friends’ flats, parties, exhibition openings at galleries and artist-run spaces, and to this common and familiar object who brings people and friends together," the artist's website caption reads.

According to the museum's representative, Froukje Budding, the fact that the artwork was in an elevator was done on purpose because they are constantly coming up with something original to surprise visitors.

"Our art encourages visitors to see everyday objects in a new lightes," said museum director Sietske van Zanten.

The project curator Elisah van den Bergh noticed that the painted cans were missing when she returned from a short break and took them out of a trash bag.

"We have now put the work in a more traditional place on a plinth so it can rest after its adventure," said Froukje Budding.

The museum staff also assured that the mechanic who threw the artwork away was not pushined as he had recently started working and was just doing his job.
