Many times tastier than Shuba: how to prepare an unusual Mermaid salad for the New Year's table
If you want to really surprise your guests, prepare a hearty and colorful Mermaid salad. It is made of red fish, orange and eggs. You can use red caviar for decoration.
Chef Olha Matviy shared a recipe for a delicious, easy-to-prepare Mermaid salad that all guests will love on her YouTube channel.
Ingredients:
- egg - 5 pcs
- red fish (lightly salted) - 300 g (you can also use mackerel or herring)
- ripe orange - 2 pcs
- olive oil - 1 jar
- pickled cucumbers - 2 pcs
- red caviar - 1 jar (or use crab sticks)
- mayonnaise - 150 g
- salt and pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Separate the boiled whites from the yolks and grate them into different containers.
2. Cut the fish into medium strips, and chop the olives and cucumbers into crosswise circles. Chop the peeled oranges into small cubes.
3. Next, take out a cooking ring and start laying out the chopped products. Spread each layer with mayonnaise, adding salt and pepper.
Layers:
- whites
- yolks
- fish
- orange
- grated cheese (1/3)
- cucumbers
- olives
- grated cheese
4. The salad should stand a little to allow the layers to soak. Then garnish it with caviar or finely chopped crab sticks and remove the ring!
