Juicy cabbage rolls with Chinese cabbage, rice, and buckwheat: a new recipe for a dish

Homemade cabbage rolls are an ideal dish for lunch and dinner. They can be made with minced meat, couscous, buckwheat, rice, and bulgur. White cabbage can be replaced with Chinese cabbage.

The cook shared on Instagram a recipe for delicious cabbage rolls made from Chinese cabbage, with a delicious filling of buckwheat, rice, and minced meat.

Ingredients:

  • Chinese cabbage – 1 head
  • Minced meat – 0.5 kg
  • Rice – 50 g
  • Buckwheat – 50 g
  • Onion – 1 pc.
  • Carrot – 1 pc.
  • Salt, pepper
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic

For the sauce:

  • Tomatoes in their own juice – 1 can
  • Sour cream – 200 g
  • Salt, pepper, sugar, and garlic – 3-4 cloves.

For serving:

  • Sour cream and herbs

Method of preparation:

1. First, separate the leaves from the cabbage and cut out the hard part. Pour boiling water over the leaves and leave them while preparing the filling.

2. For the filling: mix buckwheat and rice. Cook the cereal for about 10 minutes.

3. During this time, fry the diced onion and grated carrots. Mix the roast with the cereals and add spices. Then add the minced meat and mix well.

4. Form the cabbage rolls and put them in the mold.

5. For the sauce: mix all the ingredients and pour the sauce over the cabbage rolls.

Simmer for about 40 minutes. Preferably the first half hour under the lid!
