It won't get dry or spoil: how to store sliced and grated hard cheese properly
Hard cheese is an appetizer that no feast is complete without. It's worth noting that it can be added to salads, and made into nice and light appetizers, and spreads. You can even make it yourself from milk at home.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares useful tips on how to store sliced hard cheese so that it doesn't get airborne.
Sliced hard cheese
Double wrapping is ideal to prevent drying out and mold: first, wrap the cheese in parchment or cling film, then place it in a plastic, glass, or ceramic container with a lid. This method will also protect the cheese from absorbing odors from other products.
Cooks also advise putting a small sugar cube inside the container, as it will remove excess moisture. But even such cheese must be used quickly to prevent it from spoiling.
Grated cheese
Mix grated cheese with a small amount of cornstarch or flour to prevent the crumbs from sticking together, put the cheese in a ziplock bag, and store it in the freezer, but not for more than 6 months!
