In Romanivka, traffic was opened on a new bridge over the Irpin River. On February 25, 2022, the Ukrainian Defense Forces blew up this overpass to prevent the occupiers from advancing on Kyiv, and then in March, thousands of citizens were evacuated through it.

Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn wrote about this on his Telegram channel. The restoration of the region's infrastructure is not yet complete.

"Dear friends, I can finally officially announce the long-awaited opening of the new bridge across the Irpin River in Romanivka. The opening is, without exaggeration, historic. Although it was cold, difficult and scary, this bridge will forever remain in the history of Irpin as the "Road of Life"... However, I ask you not to forget in the constant traffic of cars how this bridge and this road became our way to salvation, our will to live and win," Markushyn called.

He added that next to the new bridge, which is supposed to relieve Romanivka of traffic during rush hours, there are still structures of the destroyed overpass that will become a memorial.

It is worth adding that on February 25, 2022, the Ukrainian Defense Forces blew up this bridge to prevent the Russian offensive on Kyiv. Thousands of people were evacuated across the bridge in March.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Kyiv plans to open the first stage of construction of the Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge and launch traffic on it by the end of this year. All the necessary work is currently underway.
