Interesting ghost baskets for Halloween: how to make an elementary dessert
Original ghost baskets are a very simple Halloween dessert idea. You can buy waffle bases in the store and then fill them with cherry filling and delicate cream. Add a chocolate face for a mystical effect.
The idea of making ghost baskets for children for Halloween was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Alina Aharkova (aharkova alina). They are baked very quickly.
Ingredients for the baskets:
- wheat flour - 50 g
- corn flour - 40 g (can be replaced with wheat flour)
- sugar - 20 g
- butter - 10 g
- yolk - 1 egg
- sour cream 10% - 30 g
Ingredients for the jam:
- cherries - 150 g
- corn starch - 0.5 tsp.
Ingredients for the meringue:
- protein - 1 egg
- sugar - 50 g
- lemon juice - 5 drops.
Method of preparation:
1. Mix flour with sugar, egg yolk and sour cream.
2. Grate cold butter and mix.
3. Knead the dough (about 10 minutes), put it in the freezer for 20 minutes.
4. Sprinkle the table and rolling pin with a little flour.
5. Roll out the dough not too thin.
6. Squeeze out 6 circles with a cup, then roll them out a little.
7. Press the batter into the silicone muffin tins to form baskets.
8. Put in the oven for 10 minutes at 200 degrees.
9. For the jam, defrost the cherries, combine with the starch and heat in the microwave 2 times for 30 seconds until thickened, stirring each time.
10. Fill the baskets.
11. For the meringue, beat the whites with the lemon juice until frothy and gradually add the sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
12. Strain the protein mixture and put in the oven for 15 minutes at 160 degrees.
13. Make a face with melted chocolate.
