Olga Harlan, a two-time medalist at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, admitted that she was looking forward to returning to Ukraine after competing in the French capital. The sabre fencer, who won gold and bronze medals at the competition, noted that she was rarely at home due to preparations for the tournament.

Harlan said this during a conversation with journalists after arriving in Kyiv, an OBOZ.UA correspondent reports from the scene. The most titled athlete at the Olympic Games from our country dedicated her medals to Ukraine, Ukrainians and, especially, the soldiers of the Armed Forces.

"Not only my family, but the whole of Ukraine is waiting for me. It's very cool because I was really looking forward to coming home. Because I was rarely at home during the preparation for the Olympic Games. I really wanted to bring back a medal, and I got two. I and the girls from the team - we all dedicate this award to Ukraine and our defenders. We were rooting for each of our athletes. I was watching everyone," Harlan said.

It should be noted that Olga won six medals at the Olympics and surpassed the famous swimmer Yana Klochkova in this indicator. It was also calculated what prize money the fencer will receive for her performance in Paris 2024.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Ukrainian athletes showed the best result in the last 12 years at the 2024 Olympics, taking a place in the top 25 of the medal standings.
