Winter cake "Cherry Hill": a recipe for a bright dessert for the New Year's table
One of the most delicious, homemade, winter cakes is "Cherry Hill." To make this dessert, you don't need to prepare a liquid dough, but a simple shortbread dough made from grated butter.
The cook shared a recipe for a delicious cake with cherries and delicate, airy cream on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- 350 g of flour
- 200 g of frozen butter
- 200 g of sour cream
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 900 g of frozen cherries
- 3 tbsp of sugar
- 1 tbsp. of starch
Cream:
- 300 g of 33% cream
- 300 g of household sour cream (or cream cheese)
- 150 g of powdered sugar
- vanilla
- dark chocolate 56% for decoration
Method of preparation:
1. Rub the frozen butter into the flour, and mix. Add salt, sour cream, knead the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill for 1-2 hours.
2. Defrost the cherries, drain the juice, add sugar and starch.
3. Divide the dough into 15 equal pieces, shape into balls, and return to the refrigerator.
4. Take each ball out of the refrigerator, roll it out into a thin layer, add the filling, and form into tubes.
5. Bake the tubes for 25 minutes at 190 C and cool them.
6. For the cream: whip the cold cream to stiff peaks, add the powder, sour cream (or cream cheese), vanilla, and beat for a few minutes until fluffy.
7. Form the cake, put the tubes to form a "house," chill the cake in the refrigerator, and garnish with grated chocolate on top.
