Slicing a pineapple can seem like a daunting task because of its tough skin and intimidating leaves. However, by mastering a few simple tricks, you can easily turn this tropical fruit into appetizing rings or slices.

How to cut pineapple into rings?
- Place the pineapple on its side on a cutting board. Using a sharp chef's knife, cut off the top crown and half a centimeter of the top of the fruit.
- Place the pineapple upright on the base. Carefully cut off the peel from top to bottom, following the shape of the fruit. Try to keep the outer edge as it is the sweetest part.
- Lay the peeled pineapple horizontally and cut off the base. Cut the fruit into rings, moving across the width. The thickness of the rings can be adjusted to your liking.
The core of the pineapple is edible, but not as tasty. Therefore, you can remove it from each ring using a small knife.
How to cut a pineapple into slices
- Peel the pineapple in the same way as for cutting rings - remove the crown, peel, and base.
- Cut the pineapple lengthwise into four pieces, making two cuts in the shape of an X.
- Cut out the hard core from each quarter.
- Cut each quarter lengthwise into smaller rectangular slices. Then cut them crosswise into pieces of the desired size.
