Hearty fried cabbage pies: how to prepare a mouthwatering dish

Fried pies are a delicious and hearty dish that can be made with yeast dough. They can also be baked.

A cook shared a recipe for delicious fried pies with stewed and fried cabbage on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 300 g of kefir
  • 500 g of flour
  • 1.5 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 2 tsp of sugar
  • 2 tbsp of oil
  • 200 g of oil for frying

Filling of cabbage:

  • 1 onion
  • 1 small cabbage
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp of tomato paste
  • salt
  • pepper
  • oil
  • bay leaf
  • 100 ml of water

Method of preparation:

1. For the cabbage filling, fry the onion, carrots, cabbage, and garlic. Add water and simmer under the lid for 15-20 minutes, stirring. At the end of cooking, add tomato paste, salt, pepper, and bay leaf and simmer for another 5-10 minutes until the moisture evaporates.

2. Combine the cheese filling - egg, cheese, salt - and beat in a blender.

3. To prepare the dough, gradually combine all the ingredients (kefir should be room temperature or warm) and leave for 30 minutes.

4. Fry in enough oil!
