Four mistakes that make your towels stiff: avoid them at all times

Repeatedly washing towels negatively affects their condition. They lose their softness and attractive appearance, and it becomes uncomfortable and unpleasant to use them.
Housewives often make basic mistakes without even realizing it. OBOZREVATEL found out why towels become stiff.
Overloading the washing machine
Do not load too many towels or any other clothes into the machine. This will lead to the fact that some things will not be well washed, but will have not only dirt, but also a musty smell. When washing, there should be enough space in the drum for the water and detergent to soak the fabric well.
Soda and vinegar
White vinegar and baking soda are indispensable cleaning and laundry tools because they can remove stubborn stains and get rid of odors. However, it is not recommended to combine these ingredients and add them to the laundry. This will only worsen their condition.
It is better to add 250 ml of vinegar to the drum along with the detergent and turn on the desired wash cycle. If you decide to use baking soda, you will need eight tablespoons of the mixture. Add it to the drum and load the towels in the same way. The baking soda will help to loosen the fibers and make the material soft.
Detergent
Do not use too much detergent when washing. Follow the instructions and add the amount indicated on the package. Too much detergent can cause residue to form on the towels and accumulate in the washing machine, which creates favorable conditions for mold.
Fabric softener
Fabric softeners give the fabric a pleasant scent, but they can also leave residue and make towels stiff. It is best to avoid using fabric softener if you want to maintain the softness of the material.
