What cities in Canada are worth visiting

The second largest country in the world is known among both expats and tourists. People come here to start life from scratch, as well as to relax and reboot. It attracts with its multifaceted wildlife, friendly people, and interesting traditions. There hasn't been a single traveler who hasn't felt comfortable traveling in this country. Even without perfect English, you can easily find a common language with Canadians and explore their land.

We'll tell you where to go!

Quebec

This is a provincial corner with 400 years of history. It combines two different worlds: the old and the new. The charming colonial architecture is perfectly blended with buildings constructed using innovative technologies. Authentic establishments are "friends" with modern restaurants. And the old streets do not mind expansion when it is necessary.

The city itself is not located in a very warm climate zone, to put it mildly. Therefore, it is always cool here, especially in winter. However, the residents of the region have managed to turn this disadvantage into an advantage. Every year, they build a real ice palace out of snow and ice and organize the Winter Carnival. It is known throughout the country and even abroad. During this period, guests from all over Canada and the United States come here.

It's worth noting that Quebec City is very similar to a typical French neighborhood. Its buildings, cathedrals, and bastions have nothing to do with the American style. Absolutely all the buildings in the historic center are unique to North America. Of course, the UNESCO World Heritage Site could not ignore this "European beauty". Now it is officially under its protection.

Must-see locations: Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, Royal Square, Old Port, Ramparts of Quebec City, National Museum of Fine Arts, Quebec Aquarium, and Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral.

Vancouver

A city that has everything for a vacation: mountains, ocean, and beautiful architecture. In winter, it is most often visited by lovers of skiing.

If you love skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing, head straight to Whistler Blackcomb. Fans of active winter leisure will be delighted with the number of trails and well-equipped slopes. Different categories of tourists are taken care of here. There are trails for beginners, large families with children, experienced skiers, and even those who enjoy freeriding only.

If you don't want to conquer the slopes but want to enjoy the incredible views, we recommend going to Grouse Mountain. It offers a magnificent panorama from which it is impossible to look away. By the way, you don't have to climb it on foot. There is a special gondola that takes everyone to the top. Of course, there is also a restaurant where you can have a delicious meal.

We also recommend visiting the Museum of Anthropology, the historic center of Gastown, Chinatown, and English Bay, as well as walking across the Capilano Suspension Bridge and strolling along Robson Street.

Toronto

The capital of Canada will surprise you with historical monuments and natural wonders. You won't find medieval architecture, Gothic cathedrals, or ancient outposts here because brave sailors came across this land a little later. Since then, many interesting buildings have appeared here. Some of them were designed according to drawings from the Dark Ages. For example, Casa Loma Castle. Although it is more modernized, it still has pronounced Gothic elements.

Fort York, the Ontario Parliament, and the Old City Hall are considered ancient buildings. These are the main famous sights of Toronto. There are also a lot of skyscrapers here.

Go to the tallest tower, the CN Tower, and climb to its observation decks. Here, on the top floor, there is a restaurant with a moving platform. It revolves around the tower for 1 hour and 12 minutes. Unfortunately, the prices here are higher than average, but there are enough guests. So if you want to sit down, it's better to book a table in advance. We also recommend visiting the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Toronto Zoo, and the PATH Underground City. And, of course, get out to Niagara Falls. It is located not far from the capital.

Montreal

This Canadian corner resembles the style of old Europe. Here, buildings built in different styles stand side by side: British colonial, French charm, neo-Gothic, baroque, and modern urban planning. The first place all tourists should visit is the historic center.

We also advise you to visit the elite Golden Square Mile neighborhood, where people who own 70% of the country's wealth live. Go to the Notre Dame de Montreal Basilica and admire the exquisite architecture of the early XIX century. Visit the Oratory of St. Joseph, the most visited church in the city. See the home of Sir George-Étienne Cartier, former Prime Minister of Canada. And, of course, visit the Artexte exhibition hall. It presents contemporary art in all its glory.
