HBO is filming a Harry Potter series based on Rowling's books, but with new actors: the first teaser has been released

HBO television has confirmed that it is filming a new series based on the Harry Potter books for its Max platform. It will be an exact adaptation of the original work about the boy who survived, but with new actors.

The announcement was made Wednesday, April 12, by Warner Bros. The HBO Max streaming service, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery has published the first teaser of the series (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the video).

The author of the Harry Potter books, Joan Rowling, will be the executive producer of the new series. Together with her, Neil Blair and Ruth Canley-Letts will work on it. The names of the actors who will play the main characters, as well as the series' premiere date, are not yet known.

"Max's dedication to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I look forward to participating in this new adaptation, which will provide the depth and detail that only long-form television series provide," Rowling said.

In the new series about the world of magic, HBO Max promises to give viewers new details about the characters and fantastical locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for more than 25 years. It will introduce the adventures of the young wizard to a new audience, while keeping the original films as the backbone of the franchise.
