According to the expert, the surface of the purchased meat is likely to contain bacteria anyway. When you wash the product, the water jet, on the contrary, allows microorganisms to penetrate even deeper into the meat fibers.

In addition, some bacteria can get on the sink, dishes, and even walls during washing. If they get into the human body, bacteria cause nausea, vomiting, fever, and stomach pain.
Important: instead of washing, the expert advises to wipe the meat with a paper towel after buying it to remove excess moisture.
Why you should not wash raw meat
Some safety rules:
- There should be at least 4 cutting boards in the kitchen – one for meat, fish, poultry, and vegetables.
- A plastic board is best for meat.
- Table vinegar will help to treat the board after meat. It is necessary to wipe the board, and then rinse with water.
- Change cutting boards should be done at least once a year.
