Beetroot salad for the winter is very simple, quick, affordable, and budget-friendly. Canned vegetable in this form is very convenient to add to borscht or to everyone's favorite Shubu salad. It can also be eaten as a complete appetizer with bread.

Ingredients:
- beets – 3 kg
- onion – 1 kg
- vegetable oil – 250 ml
- sugar – 150 g
- salt – 1-1.5 tbsp (to taste)
- ground black pepper – 0.5-1 tsp (to taste)
- ground paprika – 1 tsp.
- vinegar 9% – 150 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Let's start with the beets. They need to be boiled until tender, then peeled and grated on a Korean carrot grater.
2. Dice the onion and fry until transparent and golden brown, adding 250 ml of oil.
3. Put the beets, onion, sugar, salt, pepper and paprika in a deep saucepan. Put on the fire. Simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes.
4. After 20 minutes, add a little more salt to taste and vinegar. Stir and simmer for another 10 minutes.
5. Put the hot salad into sterile jars and seal it with sterile lids. Cover the jars and leave to cool completely.
