How to defrost fish properly to keep it healthy and tasty: two methods
Probably everyone knows that proper freezing of fish allows you to preserve all its beneficial properties. The most important thing is to defrost it properly so that the fish remains healthy and does not lose its flavor.
In one of her blogs(easyfish.alaskaseafood) on Instagram, she shared two ways to help defrost fish properly and efficiently.
To do this, take the fish out of the freezer and thaw it at a temperature of 0 to 2 degrees Celsius for about 24 to 36 hours. Of course, if you have the option, it is better to place the fish on a flake ice cube tray and leave it to defrost in this form.
Method 2 (quickly)
To do this, take the fish out of the freezer and put it in a ziplock bag, releasing the air. In this form, put the fish in cold water and defrost it in this way. If the fish is large, you will need to change the water several times during the defrosting process.
Important: after defrosting, keep the fish chilled, but never freeze it again.
