Oatmeal is a healthy and delicious cereal that is ideal for breakfast. It can be cooked in different ways: with milk, water, and even baked in the oven.

Food blogger Alina FooDee shared a recipe for overnight oatmeal on her YouTube channel (Alina FooDee) that doesn't require cooking. The peculiarity of this dish is that the porridge is soaked in yogurt and milk in the evening, and in the morning it is simply supplemented with your favorite additions.

Recipe for overnight oatmeal

Ingredients:

  • oatmeal - 4 tbsp.
  • milk - 150 ml
  • Greek yogurt - 2 tbsp.
  • honey \ sugar
  • berries \ fruits \ nuts

Method of preparation:

1. Pour the oatmeal into a bowl, add honey, sugar, milk and yogurt.

2. Mix everything, cover with a plate and leave it in the refrigerator overnight.

3. In the morning, cut your favorite fruits, prepare berries and nuts.

- Salt. Despite the fact that many people prefer salted oatmeal. But it is salt that destroys the most important advantage of this product - its low sodium content. The spice only enhances the effect of this substance.

- Sugar. It is good to eat oatmeal in the morning because it is perfectly absorbed by the body and does not cause a sharp rise in sugar levels, as is the case with many foods. Therefore, by sweetening the porridge, you destroy its benefits.

- Jams/syrups. Various syrups, toppings, and preserves have the same effect. But in addition to sugar, they can also contain preservatives and artificial colors, which only harms the body.
