It became known which city will host Eurovision 2025

Eurovision 2025 will be held in the Swiss city

After numerous consultations, the organizing committee of the Eurovision Song Contest and the Swiss authorities agreed to hold the 2025 contest in Basel. This year's show ended with the victory of the representatives of the country Nemo, so their homeland took over the responsibility of hosting the next concert.

Four cities competed for the right to host the contest: Geneva, Zurich, Basel and Biel/Bienne. At the final stage, the choice was narrowed down to Geneva and Basel. The event was broadcast on YouTube.

Shortly before the result was announced, the winner of the 2018 contest, Netta, predicted the location of the Eurovision Song Contest. In her opinion, the contest should be hosted by Geneva, which offered the highest bid of 30 million francs ($32 million). The network joked that the artist never guessed right, so Euro fans will go to Basel.

By the way, Biel, where Nemo are from, offered the smallest amount of money to host the show but tried to convince them to hold the contest there using the winner of Eurovision 2024.

Basel is called the cultural capital of the country. It is located on the banks of the Rhine River, so it is also considered an important economic hub. The city has numerous museums and other cultural centers to offer, and its narrow streets can accommodate more people than it might seem at first glance.
