"There will be consequences": Brazilian President does not rule out Putin's arrest if he comes to the G20 summit
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will be invited to the G20 summit to be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2024. However, he did not directly answer the question of whether the Russian president, whose arrest warrant was issued by the International Criminal Court, would be detained.
At the same time, Lula da Silva noted that the Kremlin leader will have to "assess the consequences" of his visit, because he "knows what can happen." The politician said this during a briefing in Berlin on Monday, December 5, Terra reports.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, earlier Brazil said that it was considering withdrawing from the ICC in The Hague. According to the Minister of Justice and Public Security, a number of "important" countries have not joined the ICC, so Brazil may reconsider its attitude to this agreement.
