On November 13, current US President Joe Biden and his successor Donald Trump met in the Oval Office of the White House. They discussed the transfer of power.

The meeting was reported by many leading media outlets, including The Washington Post, Sky News, and CNN. The meeting was broadcast live with a translation by "Suspilne."

At the beginning of the meeting, Biden welcomed Trump "back."

"Welcome back, welcome back," he said to the newly elected US president, who will take office in January 2025.

Joe Biden promised Trump a smooth transfer of power. He assured that he would do everything possible "to make sure you are comfortable."

"Politics is a tough and, in many cases, not very pleasant world. But today this world is pleasant. And this transition is as smooth as possible, and I really appreciate that," Donald Trump said.

The White House announced a meeting between the current and elected presidents on November 9. Holding such a meeting is a tradition that marks the beginning of a peaceful transfer of power.
