Fragments of the S-300 missile fell in Transnistria

On the night of September 25, when Russia attacked Ukraine's Odesa region, fragments of a 1968 S-300 missile fell in Transnistria. The metal structures "landed" in the garden of a resident of the village of Kitscan.

The so-called authorities of the unrecognized PMR stated that the missile did not explode, so it still poses a danger. This was reported by local media outlets, which also published a video from the scene (to view it, scroll to the end).

It is less than 100 km from the Transnistrian village on the left bank of the Dniester to Odesa, which was attacked by Russia with missiles and kamikaze drones at night.

Co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission of the "republic" Oleh Belyakov confirmed to local media that the wreckage of a Soviet-style S-300 missile was found in the village.

"After the explosion, which was heard by residents of the villages of Ciccani, Tiraspol and Bender at about 1 a.m., fragments of an S-300 missile fell on the territory of Transnistria. The explosion itself was in the air," he said.

In particular, he clarified that the remains of the missile ended up in the garden of a household on Yunosti Street. There were no casualties or damage.

"The warhead hit the ground but did not explode. The issue will be discussed in the JCC, as Kitskan is in the Security Zone," the official explained.

The journalists say they have asked the so-called reintegration bureau for comment, but have "not yet received a response."

For his part, an eyewitness to the incident said in the video that he saw several pieces of debris, one of which was "about three meters long and of large diameter." The man also showed metal elements that he found in the garden.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, after the nighttime Russian attack on Odesa region on September 13, the drone's wreckage was found in Romania, scattered for tens of meters. Monitoring channels indicated that these were the wreckage of a Shahed that tried to attack Ukrainian Izmail.
