The Polish Embassy in Minsk provided the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus with evidence that on 1 August Belarusian helicopters violated Polish airspace. It is noted that this data contradicts the position of the Republic of Belarus expressed in official statements.

They also called on Belarus to stop provocations. This was reported by the press service of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"On 4 August, the Polish Embassy in Minsk provided the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus with detailed information that undoubtedly confirms the violation of Polish airspace on 1 August 2023 by two Belarusian military helicopters," the statement said.

The Polish Foreign Ministry noted that "the data contradicts the position of the Republic of Belarus, set out in the official statements of its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence".

"We call on the Belarusian side to urgently investigate the incident, reconsider its position on this matter and stop all provocations on the Polish-Belarusian border," the ministry summed up.

On 1 August, two Belarusian helicopters violated Polish airspace. They crossed the border near the Polish village of Białowieża. The Belarusian helicopters were flying at a very low altitude, which made it difficult to detect them by radar systems. However, they were recorded by local residents who shared the footage online.

Poland has announced that the number of military personnel, additional forces and means, including combat helicopters, will be increased on the border with Belarus.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

The US State Department responded to the incident with Belarusian helicopters in Poland. The US department stressed that the security of NATO, of which Poland is a part, is taken very seriously.

NATO is closely monitoring the situation in the so-called Suwalki Corridor, where Belarusian military helicopters flew overhead. The incident has caused concern among the members of the North Atlantic Alliance.
