Musk comments on his controversial gesture during Trump inauguration. Photo and video
Billionaire Elon Musk had a wild moment at the so-called presidential parade, a rally of Donald Trump's supporters that took place after his inauguration. The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX embarrassed himself with inappropriate behavior - first, he performed a strange dance, and then he raised his hand in a gesture similar to the Nazi salute.
Despite the fact that some publications, such as CNN and Fox News, cut it out, netizens still published the full video, causing a wave of outrage. The billionaire's gesture is being actively discussed on X, in particular.
As you can see in the video, Musk, speaking at the presidential parade, looked like a naughty child. He jumped, shouted and tried to perform something partially resembling a dance.
And at the end of his speech, he showed a gesture very similar to the Nazi salute "Heil Hitler!", which is known in far-right circles as "Sieg Heil".
"Thenk you! My heart goes out to you. This is what victory feels like. I'm super fired up for the future," Musk concluded his speech.
After these words, the billionaire hit himself in the chest with his right hand and then threw it up. Musk didn't stop there - he turned around and repeated the "Nazi" gesture facing the audience.
Given Elon Musk's fondness towards right-wing European parties, this gesture may not be accidental.
A large number of netizens directly accuse Musk of making a "Nazi salute."
At first, the SpaceX CEO himself did not comment on the controversial moment, but later he called the reaction to it the "dirty tricks" of his opponents.
"Honestly, they need better dirty tricks. 'Everyone is a Hitler' is already too tired," the billionaire wrote on his X page.
Some Russian channels tried to justify him. They wrote that Elon Musk rather used the Bellamy salute - a gesture that is part of the ritual of pledging allegiance to the US flag.
It is shown while saying the words "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America." This ritual was first performed by Francis Bellamy on Columbus Day, October 12, 1892, so it was named so. The gesture was used in scouting organizations too.
However, Elon Musk did not pledge allegiance to the US flag at Donald Trump's presidential parade - he most likely "gave his heart" to the supporters of the new head of state.
The SpaceX CEO's place of work is now to be the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency, as promised to Musk by Trump himself. The newly-elected president also promised to help the billionaire conquer Mars.
As reported, during his inaugural speech, Donald Trump said that the United States would conquer Mars. According to him, American astronauts will be sent to the Red Planet and soon the flag of the United States will fly there.
