Kim Jong Un will send his Foreign Minister: what is known about the visit
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea, Choe Song Hee, is planning to visit the capital of the Russian Federation, Moscow. The North Korean official's visit is scheduled to last from January 15 to 17.
It is worth noting that Choe Song Hee was invited to Moscow by her Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov. This information was reported by the North Korean propaganda news agency KCNA.
The program of Choe Song Hee's visit to Moscow has not been disclosed. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea only mentioned that the representative of the North Korean authorities was invited by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"The Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea, Choe Song Hee, will pay an official visit to the Russian Federation from January 15 to 17 at the invitation of its Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov," the statement said.
It is noteworthy that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea will arrive in Russia a few days after it became known that the country had received and had already begun to use North Korean ballistic missiles in the war against Ukraine.
At the same time, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that the visit is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and North Korea.
As a reminder, Russia received ballistic missiles from North Korea in violation of international sanctions and is using them in the war against Ukraine. During the recent attacks on our country, the Russian Federation used, among other things, North Korean "ballistics."
Earlier, the United States received evidence that Russian forces have continued to attack peaceful cities in Ukraine with North Korean-made ballistic missiles in recent days. The US will continue to impose sanctions against those who facilitate the illegal transfer of weapons to the aggressor.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Ukraine's Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin said that Russia had already used missiles from North Korea during the attack on Kharkiv on January 2, 2024. There is some initial evidence, but confirmation requires the joint work of prosecutors, investigators, and experts.
