Will Biden attend Ramstein meeting

The White House has not yet made a decision on whether US President Joe Biden will attend the next meeting of the The Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) or Ramstein group. Washington is working out the details of the President's postponed visit to Germany.

This was stated by White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre at a briefing on Thursday, October 10, Ukrinform reports. She emphasized that it is extremely important for Biden to attend this meeting.

"We are trying to work out all the details. That's important to the president to do this," said a representative of the US president's administration.

When asked whether the Ramstein 25 would be held at the level of heads of state or at the ministerial level, Jean-Pierre did not provide details. She only noted that this issue has been postponed.

It should be noted that the 25th meeting of the contact group was to take place in Germany on October 12. For the first time, the meeting was supposed to be held at the level of the leaders of the countries.

However, Joe Biden postponed his visit to Germany because of Hurricane Milton, which was approaching the southern coast of the United States. The Pentagon then confirmed that the Ramstein meeting had been postponed to a later date. A new date for the meeting has not yet been chosen.

In late September, US President Joe Biden announced a meeting of Ramstein group at the level of the leaders. This will allow coordinating the efforts of more than 50 countries that support Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression.

The Washington Post reported that the next meeting is expected to include concrete steps toward Ukraine's membership in NATO.
