If the United States does not provide Ukraine with assistance to fight a full-scale Russian invasion and it loses the war, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson will be blamed, among others. His name will be repeatedly mentioned in history books, where it will be written about why Kyiv lost.

This was stated by former member of the House of Representatives Adam Kinzinger (Republican from Illinois), The Hill reports. He advised Johnson to "think about his conscience" and introduce a bill to help Ukraine.

"If Ukraine loses this fight, he will be the guy in the history books that are written about why Ukraine lost this fight," Kinzinger said.

According to him, they will definitely write that Johnson could have done something that would have changed the course of the war.

"We need to recognize the fact that Ukraine — it’s not us helping Ukraine. Ukraine is helping us, by fighting to defend themselves against one of our chief competitors and frankly, enemies in this world," the former congressman added, emphasizing the importance of providing assistance to Ukraine.

Earlier, Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a motion to dismiss the speaker, which threatened Johnson's position. However, according to Kinzinger, the likelihood of his resignation is very low.

He advised Johnson to strike a deal with Democrats on aid to Ukraine or to exclude aid to Israel from the bill.

"Clear your conscience and let the Ukrainians defeat the Russians on the battlefield," Kinzinger said.

As reported, US Senator from the Republican Party Joni Ernst believes that the House of Representatives will vote for the aid package for Ukraine in the next few weeks. According to her, the majority in Congress supports Ukraine. At the same time, there are still those who disagree with the level of aid spending.
