A bus from Ukraine with 53 passengers and two drivers had an accident in Slovakia. The overcrowded vehicle overturned on the highway, and people were injured.

The accident occurred at around 08:00 on Sunday, December 17, in the Trebyshov district of the Košice region. This was reported by the local police on Facebook.

It is noted that the Flixbus bus was heading to the border with Ukraine and overturned near the village of Dargov. At that time, there was thick fog on the road. Rescuers, medics and law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.

The footage published by local media shows the vehicle lying on the roadside with a broken windshield, through which the emergency workers were apparently rescuing people.

"Most likely, it was a bus that departed from Kosice at 05:45 in the direction of Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, Lviv and Kyiv. Eight firefighters with four pieces of equipment are working at the scene," TA3 channel described the situation.

Fortunately, the accident resulted in no fatalities. The Operations Center of the Emergency Medical Service of the Slovak Republic reported that the injured passengers were conscious, mostly with head and limb injuries. The ambulances took the injured, including children, to hospitals for the necessary assistance.

At the same time, the police of the Košice region warned that the road between the Dargov mountain pass and the town of Sečovce was impassable due to an accident. They also confirmed the information that the bus was heading to the Ukrainian border.

"Follow the instructions of the police officers who are on the spot and will orient you to the detour route," law enforcement officers urged.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, at the blocked Rava-Ruska checkpoint on the border with Poland, the driver of a minibus with Polish license plates ran over three Ukrainian drivers who were crossing the road at a crosswalk. This happened in front of law enforcement officers, who detained the culprit.
