"A cynical and mean conjuncture": Ohryzko explains why the countries of the Global South came to the BRICS in Kazan. Video

Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, and the leaders of Iran, Egypt, the UAE, and Ethiopia came to Kazan to attend the BRICS summit with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Each of them had their own interest, primarily financial.

However, as soon as the Ukrainian Defense Forces put an end to the battlefield and expel the Russian army from its territory, they will all "repaint" themselves. This opinion was expressed by former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko on OBOZ.TV.

"Everyone came with their own interest and opportunity in mind. But believe me, as soon as the Ukrainian Defense Forces put an end to the battlefield, everyone will change their colors, including China and India. Well, maybe there will be some like North Korea. Even Iran, I think, will quickly change its vector. They will say that they did not know that the Shaheds were flying over Ukraine. It's all a cynical and mean-spirited situation. Unfortunately, the world is like that," the diplomat said.

For example, India, as Ohryzko explained, needs money, and for Narendra Modi, there are no moral values in this matter, so he went to see Putin, whose hands are elbow-deep in the blood of the Ukrainian people.

"For the Indian prime minister, this is secondary, because he is thinking about how to feed his one and a half billion people. And so every country chooses what it can get out of this situation for its own interest. We must pay tribute to Russian propaganda because some people are drugged by the thesis that Russia is the flagship of the anti-colonial struggle, and Western countries are modern colonizers who must be fought and put in their place," the diplomat said.

As for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who refused to attend the Peace Summit but went to hug Putin at the BRICS summit, he reiterated that the organization is in deep crisis.

"His visit to Kazan is yet another confirmation that the UN is in such a deep crisis that it is impossible to return it to its roots. The organization, which was conceived as one that would ensure international peace and security, is now playing along with the aggressors. Either Russia or Arab extremists in their fight against Israel. That is, this structure has outlived itself. It is not surprising that the head of this structure lives in a completely different world that has nothing to do with reality," the former Ukrainian Foreign Minister believes.

In his opinion, after Ukraine's victory over Russia, the UN should be reorganized. First of all, Moscow should be expelled from the UN Security Council.

"What we are experiencing now is the collapse of the previous system. It should be rethought and restarted but without this wild country with nuclear potential. Russia must be denuclearized, and then we will see what will be left of it," said Ohryzko.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, ISW noted that the adoption of the declaration on the second day of the BRICS summit in Kazan demonstrated that Russia has not yet secured international support and created an alternative security structure, which the Kremlin so desires.
