Trump will end the war in a way that will make Putin look like a fool if he decides to invade again - Senator Lindsey Graham at Munich Conference

US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said that US President Donald Trump would not allow Russia's war against Ukraine to end badly at the Munich Security Conference. He called on NATO member states to increase pressure on Russia and threatened to accept Ukraine into the alliance at a rapid speed if dictator Vladimir Putin invades again.

In his opinion, any potential peace agreement should include measures to ensure that Putin does not attack again. He said this during a panel discussion at a conference in Munich on Friday, February 14.

Graham noted that Ukraine will not be admitted to NATO as of now. However, in the event of another attack from Russia, the country will join NATO very quickly and the Russians will not be satisfied with sanctions alone.

"I think we let Putin know that if he ever does this again, they're [Ukraine – ed.] going into NATO really quick. And if he invades again, they go into NATO that means we all fight [to defend Ukraine]," said Lindsey Graham.

According to him, it is necessary to make sure Putin thinks twice before he decides to do anything.

"Nobody wants to be provocative. If we put Ukraine in NATO, it will make Putin mad. Well, I think he's mad already...We're worried about making him mad... Make him scared. Make him think twice about what he's gonna do. If you invade that one, we're going crush your economy, we're going put sanctions on you," Graham said.

At the same time, the senator emphasized that Ukrainians will continue to fight the Russian occupiers if they receive enough weapons, including F-16 fighter jets, long-range ATACMS missiles and tanks.

If Ukraine is armed and an agreement on rare earth metals is signed, Putin will lose.

The politician also noted that Russia's war against Ukraine should not end badly like in Afghanistan. He is confident that Donald Trump will not allow this to happen.

"I think he’s [US President Donald Trump] going to find a way to end this war, in a fashion that Putin would be a fool to do it again," he said.
