Trump had another phone call with Putin: what was discussed
On Wednesday, February 12, U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with the Russian dictator again. During the conversation, the politicians, in particular, talked about Ukraine.
This was reported by Donald Trump on Truth Social. He called the conversation "long and very productive," and said that they agreed to work together "very closely, including visiting each other's countries," and would begin negotiations "immediately."
"We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, the strength of the dollar, and other topics. We both reflected on the great history of our nations and the fact that we fought so successfully together in World War II," Trump said in a statement.
He also said that the interlocutors agreed that they "want to stop the millions of deaths that are taking place in the war between Russia and Ukraine."
After Putin's call, Trump said he intended to call President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"We agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other's countries. We also agreed to have our respective teams begin negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskyy to let him know we are talking, which I will do right now," Trump wrote.
In addition, the US president wrote that he had asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to lead the peace talks.
In turn, the dictator's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that the phone call lasted 1.5 hours and that Putin had invited American officials to Moscow.
It is worth noting that his predecessor, President Joe Biden, had not spoken to his Russian counterpart for almost three years.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was ready to meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington. This will happen as soon as the teams from both sides agree on the dates and plan.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the Ukrainian president said that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has been issuing ultimatums. In particular, the Kremlin used some politicians in Ukraine to convey Russia's demands to the country's leadership.
