Trump and Harris to hold debate on September 10

US presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump have confirmed that they are ready to take part in the election debates. They are scheduled to take place on September 10.

This was reported on the social network X (formerly Twitter) by ABC News. They said they would host the debate.

"ABC News will host a presidential debate on September 10 on ABC. Vice President Harris and former President Trump have confirmed that they will participate in the ABC debate," the statement said.

According to CNN, at a press conference in Florida, Trump said he was "looking forward" to the debate with Harris. The former White House chief of staff said he had already agreed on future dates: with Fox News on September 4, with ABC on September 10, and with NBC on September 25.

Trump added that "small details" are still being finalized, including the audience and venue. He also expressed doubt that Harris would agree to all the terms of the debate.

Harris, who had previously agreed to debate on ABC, also confirmed her participation and said she would be "happy" to discuss further debates.

Earlier, Trump rejected a proposal for a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming that "he is leading in the polls."

Harris insisted on a debate that Trump was supposed to hold with the incumbent Joe Biden on September 10. However, the former White House chief of staff and his campaign refused to participate, saying that the Democrats must first officially nominate their candidate to replace Biden.
