In unrecognized Transnistria (occupied territory of Moldova), the so-called deputies of all levels held a congress on February 28. Russian propaganda announced that they intended to ask for "help" from Russia, and it turned out to be true.

On the morning of Wednesday, February 28, the aggressor country's media disseminated a fragment of the draft resolution that MPs received for review. It refers to "pressure" from Moldova.

"To approve an appeal to the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Russian Federation with a request to implement measures to protect Transnistria in the face of increasing pressure from Moldova, taking into account the fact that more than 220,000 Russian citizens permanently reside in the territory of the 'Transnistrian Moldovan Republic' and the unique positive experience of Russian peacekeeping on the Dniester, as well as the status of guarantor and mediator in the negotiation process," the text says.

As a result, the so-called politicians complained about Moldova's "economic blockade" and approved a declaration asking the Kremlin for help.

It is known that about 650 delegates gathered for the congress at the Palace of the Republic in Tiraspol.

In a commentary to a propaganda Russian news agency, Galina Antyufeyeva, deputy chairman of the so-called Supreme Council, earlier denied rumors about the alleged intention of the "PMR" to ask Russia to include the unrecognized republic in Russia.

As OBOZ.UA wrote earlier:

- On February 22, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Andriy Yusov, said that the deputies of the unrecognized Transnistria do not plan to address Russian dictator Vladimir Putin at the congress to accept the "republic" into the Russian aggressor state.

- The Institute for War Studies believes that what is happening in Transnistria is unlikely to pose a military threat to Ukraine.
