Russia is looking for Polish citizens to recruit to influence the presidential election campaign. Poles are offered 3-4 thousand euros for spreading disinformation in their country.

This was stated by Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski in a commentary to Reuters. He was quoted by Polish Radio.

According to Gawkowski, Polish services have been recording such attempts since the beginning of the year. Recruitment is carried out through the darknet, a hidden part of the Internet accessible only through a specialized browser. Russia allocates significant funds for this.

"This is money sent by the Russian GRU and FSB services," the Polish deputy prime minister said.

Earlier this month, Polish officials said they had exposed a Russian group that intended to influence the election through disinformation.

Warsaw says that due to its active support of Ukraine, Poland has become a target for Russian and Belarusian spies and for sabotage by these countries. Minsk and Moscow deny these accusations.

Polish authorities have announced that a so-called "cyber umbrella" will be deployed during the May elections to detect and neutralize foreign interference.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

Russia tried its best to disrupt the presidential elections in Moldova, using financing, bribery, and dirty technologies. But, despite everything, the Kremlin failed to undermine democracy in this country.

Russia also tried to influence the presidential election in Romania, working through proxies and intermediaries, such as affiliated or funded organizations.
