Only in court, as aggressor's accomplices: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to Belarus' desire to participate in the settlement of the war in Ukraine

Ukraine has responded to the statement by Belarusian Foreign Minister Yury Ambrazevich, who demanded that the end of the war in Ukraine take into account the interests of Minsk. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reminded that the Russians used Belarusian territory for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Therefore, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Heorhii Tykhyi, emphasized that Belarusian officials can claim not a "seat at the peace talks table" but a fair trial for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. His statement was published on the ministry's website on Monday, December 16.

Tykhyi noted that the only source of real security threats to Belarus is Russia, which used the territory of its ally for armed aggression against Ukraine.

"All that Belarusian officials have the right to claim is a fair trial within the process of bringing the aggressor and its accomplices to international legal responsibility for the crime of aggression against Ukraine," the diplomat said.

It should be noted that Ambrazevich said that Belarus is "like no other" interested in a peaceful resolution of the war in Ukraine, allegedly because of the threat to its borders. In addition, he said that Minsk allegedly "has been making peacekeeping efforts to prevent the escalation of the conflict from the very beginning," so it claims a seat at the peace talks.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, earlier the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on Hungary to stop "immoral manipulations" on the topic of peace and refrain from "peacekeeping" calls to Moscow. After them, the occupiers send missiles and drones to Ukrainian cities.
