Not Hungary and Slovakia: Macron names two NATO countries that oppose Ukraine's accession
The United States and Germany are now opposing Ukraine's membership in NATO. They are the main opponents of our accession.
These two countries were named by French President Emmanuel Macron before the North Atlantic Alliance summit in Washington. The latter, we recall, starts on July 9 and will last until July 11. The French president was quoted by the DPA news agency.
The politician said that the United States and Germany had "strong opposition" to Kyiv's invitation to join NATO.
"Ultimately, inviting Ukraine to NATO will be a decision of the allies," Macron added.
He also hinted that the conference in Washington, D.C., would end up like the last summit in Vilnius in terms of an invitation to NATO.
"The Ukrainians were very annoyed when they concluded that the door was open, but not that much. And I think the scenario of the Washington summit will be the same," Macron said.
Earlier, on July 9, the Ukrainian delegation headed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the US capital, Washington, to participate in the summit.
As reported by OBOZ.UA:
