Kuleba and Szijjarto had a long meeting in Brussels

On Wednesday, April 3, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba met with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto in Brussels. According to the Foreign Minister, the meeting was lengthy.

Kuleba reported this on his page on the social networking site X. He spoke about the results of the meeting with Szijjarto and plans for the near future.

According to Kuleba, he and Szijjarto agreed to take steps to improve relations between Ukraine and Hungary.

"We both agreed that a number of steps have been taken in recent weeks to overcome the problems in our bilateral relations. Given this positive dynamic, we expect more constructive developments in the coming days and weeks," Kuleba wrote.

In December 2023, Viktor Orban agreed to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky "at some point in the future." If this happens, the talks will be the first official bilateral meeting between the two leaders since the start of the full-scale war.

In a commentary for Russian propaganda channels, Peter Szijjarto said that "some preconditions" are needed for Orban to meet with Zelensky. According to him, these conditions are not yet ready.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Hungarian Foreign Minister and Foreign Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto admitted that Budapest was blackmailing Kyiv with the rights of Hungarians in Zakarpattia. That is why the meeting between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, promised by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, will not take place at some point in the future.
