Democrats want to disrupt Trump's speech in Congress and prepare for protests: details

Nadiya DanyshchukWorld

On the evening of March 4, U.S. President Donald Trump will address a joint session of Congress, the first time he will appear before both chambers since returning to office. Democratic lawmakers are discussing various options for protesting Trump's speech, including direct disruption.

Axios writes about this. The publication cites information from several House Democrats.

It is noted that some lawmakers are preparing props for Trump's speech, such as posters, eggs and empty egg trays as a hint of rising prices for this product in the United States, various pocket constitutions that will hint that Trump is violating the Constitution, as well as firecrackers and red cards.

In addition, Democrats said that protesters could be given ties in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. They are also considering the option of a "silent protest," during which participants will not applaud Trump or respond to his words.

The publication emphasized that there are disagreements among Democrats about the most effective form of demonstration against Trump. It is also possible that some lawmakers will leave the hall after the US president utters specific phrases that they consider unacceptable.

As a reminder, Trump is expected to speak in Congress on the evening of March 4 with arguments in favor of his ambitious domestic and foreign policy plans.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

On March 4, it became known that Donald Trump ordered the suspension of military aid to Ukraine after his dispute with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office on February 28. In particular, the decision applies to all equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine that has not yet been shipped and is in transit zones.

Politicians around the world reacted with indignation to Trump's move. They compared the suspension of aid to forcing Ukraine's surrender.
