China and some EU countries: Zelenskyy told with whom, besides Ukraine and Russia, Trump is going to talk about ending the war
As of now, the new US administration does not have a clear plan to end the war in Ukraine. When US President Donald Trump says that he is going to talk about ending the war "with Ukraine, Russia, and other parties," he means China and some European Union countries.
Mykhailo Podoliak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said this during a telethon on Monday, February 3. He called for a calm attitude to the statements of Trump and his representatives.
Preparatory procedures are already underway to determine what the scenario for ending the war should be so that it takes into account the interests of Ukraine and Europe and does not look pro-Russian.
According to Podoliak, Trump wants to build informal communication at the Ukraine-United States and Russia-United States levels, and then present his plan.
"Today, I emphasize once again, there is no such plan," he said.
The OP representative added that Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasizes the maximum interest of the United States in ending the war in Ukraine. However, the White House does not currently understand that this is possible only if Russia is forced to peace.
"Because asking the Russians to stop is strange. We understand that when you ask an inadequate person for something, rather than force them to do something, they react accordingly," he said.
At the same time, Podoliak noted that neither the government nor the United States is interested in the war ending on Russia's terms. During the war in Ukraine, Moscow has been perceived as an aggressor rather than a potential partner.
"The United States is interested in removing a powerful competitor from energy markets, especially European ones, from the arms market and nuclear technologies," Podoliak added.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the day before, US President Donald Trump said that the White House plans to hold meetings and negotiations on ending the war "with Ukraine, Russia and various parties." He did not specify whether there are already specific agreements.
