Biden and Zelenskyy are to blame: Putin makes statement on potential talks with Ukraine

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has reacted to new US President Donald Trump's statements about ending the war in Ukraine. The Kremlin leader accused the 46th US President Joe Biden of allegedly "stealing Trump's victory" in 2020 – otherwise, according to Putin, there would have been no war.

The dictator also revealed that Kyiv "refuses" to comply with the West's alleged demands to lift the ban on talks with Putin. He made this statement on January 24 in a conversation with Russian propagandist Pavel Zarubin.

In particular, Putin said that Russia "has never refused to have contacts with the US administration."

"It's not our fault that the previous administration (Biden – Ed.) refused these contacts. I have always had a businesslike, pragmatic, and trusting relationship with the current US president," the Kremlin dictator boasted.

He also supported Trump's statement that if he had been president of the United States instead of Biden, Russia allegedly would not have launched a full-scale attack on Ukraine.

At the same time, Putin called the bloody Russian invasion a "crisis."

"I cannot but agree with him that if Trump had been president if his election victory had not been stolen from him in 2020, then perhaps there would not have been the crisis in Ukraine that arose in 2022."

At the same time, Putin complained that it was Trump who imposed the largest number of sanctions against Russia during his first term in office. Biden, according to the dictator, "picked up the baton," but the sanctions, as Putin assures, are "harmful to the US economy itself."

Regarding potential talks between Russia and Ukraine, the Kremlin chief said they would allegedly be "illegitimate" as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously ruled out such a possibility at the legislative level.

"If negotiations begin, they will be, strictly speaking, illegitimate. This means that the results of these negotiations can be declared illegitimate," Putin said.

He also revealed that Kyiv is "happy to receive hundreds of billions from its sponsors" but is allegedly "in no hurry to follow the instructions" of these sponsors to cancel the decree banning the talks.

According to Putin, in the end, "those who pay the money must force it to be done."

Putin went on to assert that the United States and Russia are allegedly similar and that both are disadvantaged by both very expensive and very cheap oil. He also wants to talk to Trump about this and sanctions.

"Therefore, it is better for us to meet, based on the realities of today, to talk calmly in all those areas that are of interest to both the United States and Russia. We are ready," the dictator said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the day before, Trump said that Zelenskyy wanted to stop the war, but Ukraine allegedly should not have defended itself against a full-scale invasion, but immediately "conclude a deal." At the same time, he condemned the Russian attack and said that Biden "allowed" the Kremlin to start the war because his predecessor's energy policy "made Putin richer."

Trump also said that he and Putin would meet "as soon as they can" and noted that China has significant influence over Russia.
