There were six people on board the plane, as confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration. These are two doctors, two pilots, a patient, and probably a family member of the patient.

The plane that crashed in Philadelphia was a Learjet 55 medical flight. It crashed shortly after takeoff.

"The Learjet 55 crashed around 18:30 local time on Friday, January 31, after taking off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. There were two people on board. The plane was en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri. The FAA and NTSB will conduct an investigation," the statement said.

Eyewitnesses said the explosion was so strong that their houses shook when the plane crashed.
