Zelenskyy: Ukrainian defenders are bringing the war home to Russia

Ukrainian troops are creating problems for Russia on its territory

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the war that Russia brought to Ukraine is now coming back to Russia. Ukrainian defenders in the border area are effectively responding to the Russian invasion.

He made this statement on Thursday at the VIII Annual International Veterans Forum "Ukraine. Veterans. Unity." The broadcast was organized by the Ministry of Veterans.

"And one more thing: I have just returned from our Sumy region, from those areas bordering the enemy and from where our units are responding to Russia extremely effectively. It is to its invasion. And by sending the war to the place where Russia brought this war to our land," Zelenskyy said.

The President emphasized that Ukrainian troops create problems for Russia on its territory, and this is a fair and effective approach.

"To expel the occupier from our land, we must create as many problems for the Russian state on its territory as possible. And this is the heroic work of our soldiers. And this heroic work is becoming more and more accurate, more and more long-range, more and more effective," the head of state emphasized.

Zelenskyy also pointed out that the path to ending the war includes defensive operations in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and the south, the liberation of the Black Sea from the Russian fleet, actions in Kursk, and constant strikes on Russian military targets.

"I am confident that we will overcome this path, no matter how difficult it may be," he said, thanking everyone who is defending the state.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, according to the ISW analysts' report for August 21, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to advance in the Kursk region. The day before, the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted an offensive along the entire Kursk salient and achieved additional success. The forces of the Russian aggressor country, in turn, are trying to fight back and withdraw their units from the encirclement.

In addition, Russia reported an alleged attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break through the border in the Bryansk region on the evening of August 21, when the Russian military allegedly encountered a sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Klimovsky district.
