"You have no idea how much I've been waiting for you": a video of a conversation between a defender released from captivity touched the web. Video
On Friday, September 13, 49 military and civilians returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity. Photos and videos of the touching moments of their return to their homeland are circulating online.
One of the videos that touched the netizens was the first phone conversation of a freed Azovstal defender after his captivity. The man can't contain his emotions, happy that he is finally home, safe, able to communicate with his family, and speak Ukrainian fluently.
"You have no idea how much I've been waiting for you. I can't believe I'm going to see you," the girl says to the released defense lawyer.
"You have no idea how happy I am to be home, on our land. To communicate with people in Ukrainian and to hear my family," the soldier replies.
It is worth noting that among the Ukrainians who have been returned today are members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, and civilians. Some of those released were defending Azovstal.
Earlier it was reported that on Friday, September 13, the 56th exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and the terrorist country Russia took place. As a result, 49 Ukrainians returned to their homeland. In total, 3569 Ukrainians have been returned home from Russia since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
It should be reminded that Russian prisoners in Ukraine no longer have the right to call their relatives and friends. They can only send them letters. The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, noted that this decision was made because of the constant atrocities committed by Russians against Ukrainian prisoners of war.
