White House discusses arms production for Ukraine with US defense industry: what is known

White House works with US industry on technological innovations for Ukraine

On Monday, January 8, White House officials met with representatives of the U.S. defense industry. They discussed support for Ukraine's access to advanced American equipment and weapons.

Reuters reports this with reference to representatives of the US presidential administration. It is noted that the meeting was attended by about 12 executives of American companies working in the technology and defense industries.

"Key members of the National Security Council met with industry executives from Fortem Aerospace, defense technology companies such as Palantir Technologies Inc (PLTR.N) and Anduril Industries Inc, and drone manufacturer Skydio," the statement said.

The meeting was convened by Jake Sullivan, White House National Security Advisor. Its goal was to "renew the focus on helping Ukraine overcome key technological challenges that are holding back its progress and momentum on the battlefield.

In particular, it was about the need of our Defense Forces for unmanned aerial systems, means of combating enemy UAVs, and solving the problem of demining.

Joe Biden's administration noted that this meeting gave them the opportunity to learn about the new capabilities of the US defense industry. They hope that the U.S. government will be able to facilitate the implementation of these innovations for Ukraine.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, representatives of the Republican and Democratic parties in the United States have reached an agreement on the controversial issue of the country's migration policy. The text of the agreement may be published this week. Thus, there is a chance that the US Congress will unblock tens of billions of dollars to help Ukraine.
