"We will not give up": Zelensky assures that Trump is aware of the danger of freezing the war

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the future President of the United States Donald Trump knows that it is dangerous to freeze the war in Ukraine and that Kyiv will never agree to it. Ukraine will not surrender and give up its independence to the aggressor.

The president said this during an online conversation with Le Parisien readers. Trump wants to end the war quickly, but Zelensky voiced his desire "not to rush to the detriment of Ukraine."

"The country has been fighting for its sovereignty for a long time. No matter how many presidents or prime ministers want to declare an end to the war, we are not going to just give up and give up our independence," the politician emphasized.

According to him, Trump is not yet in the White House, so he does not have access to valuable information about the war in Ukraine. For example, to intelligence data, the Ministry of Defense, certain diplomatic channels, etc.

"When he is there, we will be able to speak the same language, with the same level of information," he said.

The President noted that it is very dangerous to freeze the war and negotiate with Russians. Ukraine is counting on more decisive and stronger support from Washington. America, Zelensky believes, can influence Russian dictator Putin.

"We will build relations with the new administration, this will be our priority. The United States has been and remains our leading donor in this war, although I want to emphasize that both Europe and the United States are important for Ukraine," he said.
