"We cannot afford to take risks": In the Air Force, there are no plans to change the alert system using MiG aircrafts

The Ukrainian Air Force has no plans to change the airborne alert system for Russian MiG-31 takeoffs. These aircraft can carry Kinzhal missiles, and the Ukrainian military often lacks information on whether a particular aircraft is armed.

Yurii Ihnat, head of the public relations service of the Air Force Command, stated, "Sometimes there is information that the MiG took off with a missile, sometimes it took off without a missile, and sometimes there is no such information. We have no right to take risks here." He mentioned this during an interview on Ukrainian Radio.

Ihnat highlighted that the military has not received new instructions on how to notify the public about MiG-31 takeoffs. Regardless, the Ukrainian Air Force will continue to warn of the danger of UAVs, missiles, tactical aircraft, or MLRS attacks.

"We will not change the scheme of warning the population. We try to do it as quickly as possible on the official telegram channel. As for the level of threat, in other words, the color of the map, it will be decided at the highest level," Ihnat stated.
