Ukrainian troops continue offensive actions in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region. In particular, on October 3, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to break through the defense near Novy Put, south of Veseloye.

However, there was no confirmed advance in the area. This is stated in the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

On October 2, Russian "military commanders" said that the occupiers had allegedly regained lost positions near Veseloye, where fighting continues. Clashes were also reported on the "Ukrainian bridgehead" in the Kursk region, although no confirmed changes on the front line were recorded.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the fighting took place in the areas of Olgovka, Kremyanoye, Obukhovka, Nikolayevo-Darino, Novosyolovka, and Plekhovo.

On the night of October 3, the Russian side claimed to have shot down 113 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory: 73 over Belgorod Oblast, 25 over Voronezh Oblast, 14 over Kursk Oblast, and 1 over Bryansk Oblast.

At the same time, Ukrainian media, citing the SSU, reported that Ukrainian drones had struck the Borisoglebsk airfield in Voronezh region, hitting warehouses and hangars for Su-35/34 aircraft where bombs were stored.

Earlier it was reported that at the end of September 2024, the Ukrainian military hit the latest Russian S-400 air defense system in the Kursk region. It was the system that covered the airspace of the regional center.

On Thursday, October 3, it became known that explosions had occurred in Kurchatov, Kursk Oblast, Russia, on the evening of October 3. The Russians complained about an "attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine," and propagandists have already put forward a version of an "attempt to strike the Kursk nuclear power plant."
