Ukraine will receive another batch of F-16 fighters from Denmark: terms are announced

Denmark will deliver the next batch of F-16s to the Ukrainian Air Force by the end of this year. The quantity and specific terms have not been disclosed.

The announcement was made by Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen after a visit to Ukraine, DR reports. In total, his country has promised to provide 19 aircraft to Ukraine's defenders.

In early August, the Defense Minister confirmed that the first planes were flying missions in Ukraine. Troels Lund Poulsen did not name their number.

"Denmark will deliver an additional batch of F-16s in the second half of 2024," the Defense Minister said. He explained the lack of details by the need for "operational security".

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

– Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said after a telephone conversation with his Romanian counterpart Angel Tilvar that there would be more F-16 fighters in our skies. A group of Ukrainian Armed Forces pilots is already undergoing training in Romania.

– The Netherlands included spare parts and other repair and maintenance materials for the F-16 in the latest military aid package. The list also included air-to-air missiles.
