Ukraine returns four children abducted by Russia: first details
On October 16, Ukraine managed to return four children who had been illegally taken to its territory by the Russian occupiers. Our state is using all means and resources to remedy the consequences of Moscow's war crimes, including the abduction of young Ukrainian citizens.
Today, three boys aged three, six and nine, as well as a 17-year-old teenage girl, returned to their native land. The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, announced this on his Telegram channel.
"An important day. Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a task to return all our children. We are working on it. Russia must be punished for genocide," the official emphasized.
As a reminder, in September this year, the President's Office launched a campaign to return Ukrainian children illegally deported from the territories temporarily occupied by Russia to their homes. The campaign is called Bring Kids Back UA and is aimed at obtaining information from Russian residents about children from Ukraine who are being held on Russian territory.
At the same time, dictator Putin personally admitted to the crime for which the court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant. He told tales that Russian soldiers were taking away underage Ukrainians to "save them from harm in the conflict zone."
"Children are a sacred thing, we were taking them out of the conflict zone to save their lives and health, that's what was happening. No one is going to separate them from their families," the Russian president justified himself during a meeting with an African delegation in St. Petersburg.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, according to the head of the GUR Budanov, there are certain obstacles in the negotiation process on the exchange of prisoners under the "all for all" formula, but the situation is not as complicated as it seems. Ukraine is as close as possible to getting Russia to meet us halfway in the near future.
